Artist Notes:
This collection explores the safe haven that most of us seek. I have illustrated this space as either a contained vessel, or a nest. Sometimes these spaces are full and sometimes they are empty. The larger pieces in the collection containing gold and silver egg-like forms in and above the nest symbolize the rings of loyal lovers, as well as the fragility of those bonds. Combining my photography with a stronger presence of hot molten beeswax allowed me to carve defined architectural lines into organic wax translucency.
